Miss Golden Eagle Benefit Pageant Held To Benefit Girl Scout Stephanie Gargiulo’s Gold award Project

The Golden Eagle Benefit Pageant was held recently at Zoar United Methodist Church.  This pageant was held to benefit Girl Scout, Stephanie Gargiulo’s Gold Award project.

Stephanie Gargiulo, Sarah Cherney and Kate Coble are three Girl Scouts from Troop 1610 that selected to renovate the Prayer Garden at Zoar United Methodist Church as their Girl Scout Gold Award projects. Each Scout selected a section to complete for their individual project.  Sarah Cherney is working on renovating the stepping stones which are in the formation of a cross. These stones are hand-made and individualized based on orders.  Kate Coble renovated the prayer stations and the path along the stations.  Stephanie Gargiulo’s project consisted of erecting a gazebo, with benches and plants surrounding the Gazebo. These girls have been supported by their Leader Elizabeth Cherney and Assistant Leader Tracey Coble.

Part of the Girl Scout Gold Award project is to raise money to pay for their project. Stephanie held the Benefit pageant to help fund her project.  Girls, both scouts and non-scouts competed for the coveted titles while Girl Scout leaders competed for the Outstanding Leader title.  Guest judges were Miss  Chelsey Helgeland,  Miss Georgia World Tourism,  Ms. Sandra Asbell native from Monroe, Georgia who works closely with Pageant of Georgia and Mr. Isaac King, Mr. Barbizon 2011, actor and model.

The winners are as follows:

Miss Tag-A-Long- Isabelle Norm

Miss Daisy-Kalin Moultrie

Miss  Brownie- Taylor Norman

Miss Junior- Soraya Bagheri

Miss Senior-Amber Etheridge

Miss Ambassador-Megan Berounsky

Miss Golden Eagle—April Moultrie

Outstanding Leader-Laura Greene

Stephanie Gargiulo brought the community together with this project.  She demonstrated the 3 C’s Girl Scout is all about: Courage to carry out such an event, Confidence that she could complete this event and Character for meeting all the challenges associated with hosting an event  such as this.

Girl Scouts, an exceptional organization celebrating their 100 Year anniversary this year has over 2.3 million scouts.  Only 5.4% of these Girls Scouts receive their Gold Award.  Completing their Gold Award project is a tremendous accomplishment that each of these girls has  achieved.

Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier

Hello to all the Queens and Friends!

I am so happy to have been invited to entertain at the Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier again this year.  This is the third year that I have participated in this event and it is so much fun!    If you      are interested in joining us, it will be a night of fun. All pageant systems are invited.

You don’t have to have a crown and sash to participate.  We will entertain for one hour in the Big White Tent.  We will sing the Twelve Days of Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer plus others. We will have a reading of the night before Christmas and anyone that would like to perform can submit their talent or suggestion.

Our group is scheduled for December 22 at 7:00 PM on the Festival Stage at Holiday Village on Lake Lanier Islands Resort.

The entrance to the park is $40 and performers are admitted free.   Vehicle passes will be given out but we will need to car pool as I will only have a limited number of passes.

You will want to arrive in plenty of time to get to the stage area and meet our group. The car line to the entrance to the park forms early, around 5:30.  I suggest being at the gate at least one hour prior to a 7 pm performance so you will have time to enjoy the lights. Remember, you will have to actually take the Magical Nights of Lights tour up to the turn off point for the Holiday Village so the driving pace will be slow.

DRESS:  Santa Stocking Cap, crown/sash if applicable and red, green or white shirt.

This year we are asking everyone to bring and unwrapped toy which will benefit the For a Day Foundation-Atlanta which works with the children with cancer at the AFLAC Cancer center at Egleston hospital. For gift ideas visit http://www.choa.org/Support-Childrens/Volunteering/Hospital-Volunteers/Ways-to-Volunteer/Donations-and-Activities/Gift-List

This will be fun for you and we look forward to your group sharing their talents with the community while enjoying the light show and festivities. This is very informal and will be so much fun, Please Let me know if you would like to join us this year by December 9th, 2011 and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks and see you soon!

Stephanie Gargiulo

A Tribute to Zach Moody

Last year, the first CBA Benefit Pageant was to benefit a young boy (Zach) with MITO! He was very photogenic that day of the pageant. He was taking photos with family, friends and new friends! After the pageant was over we proudly raised $4,000 ! He then was able to buy a medical bed. My baby cousin Zach went on to be with Jesus June 14th 2011 at age 3. To know that the CBA Foundation helped fight through his journey is just about the best feeling ever. Though we could not save him from our actions we let Zach and his family know he had people that cared. For those of you that may not be familiar with The CBA Foundation; The C stands conceive, the B stands for believe and the A stands for Achieve. The CBA Foundation CONCEIVED a goal; to not only raise money but to show Zach  he always had people thinking of him as well as praying for him and wanting to help him. The CBA Foundation BELIEVED Zach was a strong young boy that taught many adults and teens lessons that no one else could. God worked through him. Zach ACHIEVED many things through his short , blessed life. He showed that you can’t just give up no matter what’s stopping you. He always had a smile on no matter what he was going through. His story will always be a story to remember.Zach Moody was truly a fighter and and inspiration to us all.  He showed us how to make the best out of  every situation.  He often took sour lemons and made lemonade.  He taught us how to love and live life to the fullest.  Thank you to all of you that took this journey with us and supported him.  He will truly be missed but we know that he is with Jesus–a great place to be!

We hope to have the same effect on whoever  we may benefit through the C.B.A Foundation… every hand helps. The CBA Foundation wants your help, wants your hand and wants your heart to reach others. The CBA Foundation is a foundation of leaders , we are a team and everyone and anyone can be apart of it.
